One (1) Senior Network & Gateway Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. Key duties and responsibilities The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to: Providing technical expertise to projects and business areas, and leading the technical deliverables; Undertaking a range of activities in support of the management and operation of the Department's secure Internet gateway, secure systems, data centre and network services; Liaising with external and internal service providers, as required; Day to day monitoring and support of network and gateway systems including Data Centre technologies, SMTP email systems, SSL Gateways, Load Balancers, Proxy systems, Firewalls and IPS; Implementing major/minor project work to support Departmental initiatives; Undertaking enhancement and remediation activities across network and gateway systems. Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices. The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to: Designs and patterns for continued use; Technical specifications using the Department's templates; Service design documentation; Migration Strategies; Project Plans; High Level Solution Designs; Standard Operating Procedures; Security Impact Assessments; Technical Security Designs; Status reports and briefing material. All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must: be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; and meet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated experience as a Network & Security Gateway Engineer 2. Demonstrated high order communication skills (both verbal and written) 3. Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills 4. Ability to distil requirements from complex scenarios and processes, including developing new processes where required 5. Demonstrated analytical background and experience in Agile methodology Desirable criteria 1. Demonstrated experience in implementing IT solutions for large, highly integrated government or similar private organisations 2. Knowledge of Cloud/Security/Automation technologies 3.
