One Business Analyst

The Department seeks to engage one APS6 Business Analyst (labour hire) for an estimated 6–9-month period to undertake business analysis and ITC procurement activities, including process mapping, data mapping and requirements identification, to support RIP digital prioritisation and inform future digital solution design and delivery. The resource will be responsible for developing procurement-ready artefacts and supporting documentation required to progress ICT governance, investment approvals, procurement planning and the development of a Request for Quote (RFQ) for future digital capabilities.   Key duties and responsibilities Develop business requirements documentation suitable for inclusion in departmental ICT procurement plan, ICT approval documentation and RFQ documentation. Produce use cases, user stories, business rules, personas, process narratives, acceptance criteria and traceability matrices. Define integration requirements, interfaces, data flows and dependencies across departmental and external systems Document API, data exchange and system interaction requirements Identify system impacts, assumptions and dependencies Identify security, privacy and compliance requirements Document authentication, authorisation and role-based access controls Define web application API hosting and infrastructure security requirements Document data retention, records management and compliance obligations with departmental ICT information management and cyber security policies.  Identification of functional and nonfunctional systems requirements Drafting user stories, business and use cases and acceptance criteria Completing and validating current-state process maps across livestock, non-livestock and genetics export functions. Capturing business and functional requirements to support future digital solution design and implementation activities. Document current and future digital touchpoints across export regulatory workflows. Identify and map data capture points across export workflows to support a “tell us once” approach enabling data reuse across systemsDevelop data maps detailing: Key data sources and ownersData collection and validation pointsData flows between systemsReporting requirements Map interactions between business processes and key departmental and industry systems, including legacy platforms and proposed future digital capabilities. Documenting currently unmapped operational and regulatory processes, including inspections, veterinary activities, certification, audits, compliance, reporting and invoicing. Identifying current and future digital touchpoints and system integration requirements. Facilitating stakeholder workshops and supporting endorsement of process and data artefacts. Some travel maybe required for this role to DAFF regional offices
