Job description

As a Solution Architect you will lead the segregation, separation and decommissioning of legacy applications, while designing capabilities in new SaaS applications and technologies.  This role will support the transition of on-premise bespoke capabilities into SaaS platforms including Salesforce and TechnologyOne while maintaining existing capabilities and business continuity. Working in Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) with a variety of stakeholders including business representatives, project co-ordinators and managers, business analysts, software engineer, integration and data specialists and testers, you will lead solution design to translate requirements into high level (HLD) and detailed (DLD) architectural designs. DHA’s Architects are responsible for the creation, design and management of all system architecture documentation, the design and consideration of future architecture states, and maintenance of artefacts in DHA’s Enterprise Architecture Tool. Disclaimer: Only submissions proposing an hourly rate at or below the maximum rate specified below will be considered. Submissions exceeding this rate will not be evaluated. Maximum hourly rate: $203.50 including GST Key duties and responsibilities Key duties and Responsibilities The respondent will undertake the following tasks under this engagement: Working with the Architecture team, engineers and Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) providing advice on current and new technology development and implementation considering future architecture requirements. Design and deliver architectural solutions to support emerging business requirements. As well as review and provide feedback on solutions produced by DHA’s implementation partners. Present and advocate solution and architecture designs to governance forums, including the Design Authority (DA) and Architecture Review Board (ARB), and engage with Executive stakeholders to obtain endorsement, alignment, manage risks and drive informed decision-making. Apply extensive technical knowledge of Salesforce, TechnologyOne, .Net and Java technologies. Create and modify architecture artefacts as required, including high level and detailed designs, architectural diagrams, mapping process/data flows, integration designs, and delivery of functional designs for the following: Participate in existing (legacy system) capability transfer to Salesforce and SaaS products. Develop and maintain decommissioning roadmap for bespoke custom build, COTs and SaaS solutions. Providing advice and guidance on a structured approach to segregation, separation and decommissioning of legacy technologies. Contribute to design to support permanent fixes and changes relating to incident management and tactical operations projects. Deliver and present architectural solutions to support emerging business requirements including licensing and cost considerations. Lead documenting current state architecture and the design and development of future state architecture and providing advice via the architecture forum. Respondent will provide Architectural leadership for multiple programs of work with a focus on simplicity of system design and seamless integration. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Applicants will be evaluated based on the extent to which they demonstrate the relevant skills, experience and capability required to successfully perform the key requirements of the role, as outlined in the duties and responsibilities. The assessment will consider the applicant’s demonstrated understanding of the role, their ability to apply relevant knowledge and expertise in a practical work environment, and the quality of examples provided to support their claims. 2. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to translate business and technical requirements into practical solution designs, while providing clear architectural advice to business, delivery and technical stakeholders. 3. Demonstrated technical knowledge and practical experience across complex enterprise environments, including Salesforce, TechnologyOne, MuleSoft, .NET, Java technologies. 4. Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, quality assure and clearly present a range of architecture documentation and solution design artefacts. Promoting simple and integrated solution designs, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, patterns, standards, security requirements and business needs 5. Demonstrated experience analysing and documenting current state architecture, defining achievable future state architecture, and developing transition and decommissioning roadmaps that address dependencies, risks, sequencing and business priorities 6.
