Senior Cloud Engineer

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) enables access to quality skills, training, and employment to support Australians find secure work in fair, productive and safe workplaces – supporting individuals, businesses and our nation to prosper.  The Department is seeking an experienced Software Engineer – Cloud Engineer to meet emerging needs of the department and business areas. Key duties and responsibilities As a Software Engineer (Developer) - Cloud Engineer, you will be required to: Work as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team to participate in agile ceremonies including planning and estimation Write clean, testable, maintainable and scalable code that meets the stated acceptance criteria Collaborate with team members and other delivery teams to achieve outcomes Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) **Please note that DEWR will not be extending this opportunity to any additional Sellers* Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Demonstrated experience working in a small specialist team or multi-disciplinary team as a software engineer (developer) - cloud engineer in an enterprise-class environment delivering a range of enterprise IT systems based around Microsoft Azure.NET cloud and on-premises technologies, including integration of the two. 2. Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced agile delivery environment to produce high-quality software using an enterprise toolset and delivery framework. 3. The ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person and via Video Conferencing. 4. Experience with any of the following: • .NET, SQL, C# or other object-oriented programming language • Microsoft Web API / REST Architecture • CI/CD Practices Desirable criteria 1. Previous experience in a Government Agency is desired, including the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. 2.
