Job description

Role/s: 1 x EL1 Mobile Automation & AI Tester The EL1 Mobile Automation + AI Tester (Labour Hire) will provide specialist testing and quality engineering expertise across mobile applications and AI-enabled digital solutions within a complex ICT program environment. Working within multidisciplinary ICT delivery teams, the role will lead and undertake the design, development and execution of automated testing across mobile platforms and AI-enabled capabilities. The role will provide technical assurance that solutions are reliable, secure and fit for purpose, while contributing to the development of contemporary automation frameworks and testing practices. The successful candidate will bring strong mobile automation testing capability, experience testing AI-enabled solutions and the technical judgement required to develop effective testing approaches for complex and emerging technologies. Supplier Briefing: Not Required. Rate: The proposed rate should reflect candidate's skills and experience against the Evaluation Criteria. Candidates that do not demonstrate these criteria will not be assessed. Candidates should be aware that rates may be negotiated further as part of the selection process. Citizenship: As part of the eligibility and suitability requirement, NDIA seeks Labour Hire Workers who are Australian citizens only. Successful candidates will be required to furnish valid evidence of citizenship during the Pre-engagement Check. Labour Hire Licence: Applicable for ACT, VIC and QLD: Labour hire licences are required in the state that specified personnel are being contracted. Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Lead the design, development, execution and maintenance of automated testing for mobile applications across relevant platforms, devices and operating environments. Develop and enhance scalable, reusable and maintainable mobile automation frameworks and automated test suites. Develop testing approaches for AI-enabled features and services, including validation of the accuracy, consistency, reliability and expected behaviour of AI-generated outputs. Design test scenarios and datasets to assess AI-enabled solutions across expected, unexpected, edge-case and failure conditions. Undertake functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and exploratory testing across mobile applications and associated services. Analyse complex business and technical requirements, solution designs, user stories and acceptance criteria to determine appropriate testing scope, approach and coverage. Work closely with developers, architects, product teams and other technical specialists to identify, investigate and resolve complex defects and quality issues. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable repeatable and efficient testing throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Analyse test results, defects and quality metrics to identify trends, risks and areas requiring additional assurance. Provide specialist advice on mobile automation and AI testing approaches, quality risks, test coverage and solution readiness. Contribute to test planning, estimation and prioritisation and identify testing dependencies that may impact delivery. Support appropriate testing of security, privacy, accessibility, performance and resilience requirements relevant to mobile and AI-enabled solutions. Drive continuous improvement of automation frameworks, testing standards, tools and quality engineering practices. Mentor and provide technical guidance to testers and other delivery team members where required. (NOTE: the key responsibilities of the role are based on current priorities and may change over time) Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Minimum 5 years demonstrated extensive experience in mobile application testing, including designing and implementing automated testing across mobile platforms. 2. Strong experience developing and maintaining contemporary mobile automation frameworks, reusable automated test suites and quality engineering practices. 3. Demonstrated experience testing AI-enabled applications, features or services, including approaches for assessing the quality, reliability and consistency of AI-generated outputs. 4. Strong experience across functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing within complex ICT delivery environments. 5. Demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical and business requirements and develop comprehensive testing strategies, scenarios and automation coverage 6. Strong technical leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with developers, architects and multidisciplinary ICT delivery teams. Desirable criteria 1. Experience with mobile automation technologies such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest or comparable frameworks. 2. Experience testing generative AI, machine learning or other AI-enabled solutions, including model or output evaluation approaches. 3. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and contemporary DevOps environments. 4.
