Job description
Solution Architects are responsible for the quality of solution architecture work across an organisation. They provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of systems and software to solve business problems. This position requires a Certified Master Solutions Architect to support the Program in designing, governing, and implementing complex digital transformation strategies focused on supporting Cloud Service integration to ServiceNow products. They will provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of systems integration to ServiceNow to support the uplift of Service Desk operations. Key duties and responsibilities The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to: Defining the end-to-end solution architecture for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, and technical requirements; Leading the design of ServiceNow solutions across relevant modules and business functions; Analysing business requirements and translating them into scalable, secure, and supportable technical solutions; Organising, facilitating, and co-facilitating workshops with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and technical teams to elicit requirements and define solution designs; Developing solution blueprints, conceptual, logical, and physical architecture designs, and integration patterns; Providing guidance on ServiceNow best practices, governance frameworks, platform standards, and technical design principles; Designing and documenting integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, ensuring interoperability, security, and performance requirements are met; Assessing and managing architectural risks, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints throughout the project lifecycle; Reviewing and assuring the quality of technical designs, configurations, customisations, and development activities performed by delivery teams; Submitting review and acceptance of solution document, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, security requirements, accessibility standards, and relevant government frameworks. Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices. The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to: Solution Architecture Document (SAD); ServiceNow Solution Design; High-Level Design (HLD); Integration Architecture and Interface Design Documents; CMDB and CSDM Design Documentation; Security Architecture and Compliance Assessment; Platform Implementation Approach; Workshop Outcomes, Requirements Traceability, and Executive Briefings. All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must: be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; and meet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Solution architecture level 5 - Leads the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Leads the preparation of technical plans and ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available. Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and employed in architecture development. Provides technical guidance and governance on solution development and integration. Evaluates requests for changes and deviations from specifications and recommends actions. Ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly. 2. Enterprise and business architecture level 5 - Develops models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance. Contributes to creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy which meets the business's strategic requirements. Determines requirements and specifies effective business processes, through improvements in technology, information or data practices, organisation, roles, procedures and equipment. 3. Systems design level 6 - Develops and drives adoption of and adherence to organisational policies, standards, guidelines, and methods for system design. Champions the importance and value of system design principles and the selection of appropriate systems design life cycle models. Leads system design activities for strategic, large and complex systems development programmes. Develops effective implementation strategies consistent with specified requirements, architectures and constraints of performance and feasibility. Develops system design requiring the introduction of new technologies or new uses for existing technologies. Desirable criteria 1. ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) or equivalent advanced ServiceNow certification. 2. Governance level 6 - Implements the governance framework to enable governance activity to be conducted. Within a defined area of accountability, determines the requirements for appropriate governance reflecting the organisation's values, ethics and wider governance frameworks. Communicates delegated authority, benefits, opportunities, costs, and risks. Leads reviews of governance practices with appropriate and sufficient independence from management activity. Acts as the organisation's contact for relevant regulatory authorities and ensures proper relationships between the organisation and external stakeholders. 3. Requirements Definition and Management level 6 - Champions the importance and value of requirements management principles and selecting effective requirements management life cycle models. Develops organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for requirements definition and management. Plans and leads scoping, requirements definition and priority setting for complex, strategic programmes. Drives adoption of, and adherence to, policies and standards. Develops new methods and organisational capabilities for requirements management.
