Job description

The SAP Finance Business Analyst provides specialist SAP business analysis services to support the ongoing operation, enhancement, governance, and optimisation of finance systems and business processes. The role works closely with finance stakeholders, ICT teams, vendors, implementation partners, and business users to identify requirements, improve business processes, support system enhancements, and ensure finance systems continue to meet organisational needs. The position plays a key role in maintaining and improving SAP financial solutions and supporting the delivery of finance transformation initiatives, projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.  The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) has been used to inform the requirements. In summary, DFAT seeks suitable candidates with the following relevant skillsets: Skills/Levels:  Change and transformation - Change analysis - Business situation analysis BUSA - Level 5 Key duties and responsibilities Gather, analyse and document business requirements, translating them into practical solutions and functional specifications. Provide functional support for SAP finance systems, including issue resolution, enhancements, upgrades and testing activities. Analyse and improve finance business processes to drive standardisation, automation and compliance with governance requirements. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and liaison between business and technical teams. Support finance transformation projects, change initiatives, business cases, risk management and vendor engagements. Develop user documentation, deliver training and promote adoption of new processes and system capabilities. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Each response is limited to 3000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in finance, ERP, or corporate systems environments. 2. Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, requirements gathering, and process documentation. 3. Experience working with SAP Finance solutions and financial management processes. 4. Proven stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitating workshops and business consultations. 5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into solutions. 6. Experience supporting testing activities (including UAT) and delivering outcomes within Agile, ITIL, or project delivery environments. Desirable criteria 1. Knowledge of SAP Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Travel and Budget Management. 2. Experience working with government financial management frameworks. Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance. 3. Experience supporting ERP transformation or migration projects. 4. Experience working with external vendors and implementation partners.
