Drupal Developer

We are seeking Drupal Developers for the design, development, enhancement, support and maintenance of Drupal-based websites, applications and digital services for DCCEEW.  The role will work closely with business stakeholders, user experience designers, content authors, solution architects, cybersecurity specialists and project teams to deliver secure, accessible and reliable digital services that comply with Australian Government standards, including GovCMS, WCAG accessibility requirements, Digital Service Standard and Information Security Manual (ISM) requirements. Key duties and responsibilities The key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Participate in requirements analysis. Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture. Design, develop, configure and maintain Drupal-based websites and applications. Configure and manage Drupal content types, views, taxonomies, workflows and permissions. Write clean, maintainable and scalable code following departmental standards and practices. Collaborate with business representatives, project managers and technical teams. Test and deploy applications and systems. Revise, update, refactor and debug code. Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). Perform Drupal core and module upgrades, patching and lifecycle management. Manage vulnerabilities and ensure timely application of security updates. Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, security vulnerabilities and performance issues. Support security assessments, penetration testing and remediation activities. Develop solutions that comply with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and work with UX/UI specialists to improve user experience and usability. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Demonstrated experience developing, supporting and maintaining Drupal websites and applications, including customisation, configuration and troubleshooting. 2. Proven experience developing web solutions using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs and related web technologies, applying contemporary software development practices and version control. 3. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with experience working collaboratively in Agile delivery teams. Desirable criteria 1. Knowledge of Drupal security, secure coding practices, web application security and modern DevOps or CI/CD methodologies.
