UXUI Designers

Role/s: 2 x APS6 UX/UI Designer As an APS6 UX/UI Designer, you will apply specialist experience design expertise to help shape and improve digital products and services used by participants, providers and staff. Working with a high degree of independence, you will lead pieces of design work, contribute to complex initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate user needs into accessible and effective solutions. You will contribute across the end-to-end design lifecycle including research, interaction design, interface design, prototyping, validation and implementation support. You will also help improve consistency, quality and knowledge across the Agency through the development of reusable patterns, design system assets, design specifications, standards and knowledge assets. The role requires strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, sound professional judgement and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. You will actively contribute to contemporary design practices and leverage emerging tools and methods to improve delivery effectiveness while maintaining a strong focus on user outcomes, accessibility and quality. Experience Designers are expected to contribute to both delivery outcomes and the ongoing development of organisational capability through reusable assets, standards, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.   Rate: The proposed rate should reflect candidate's skills and experience against the Evaluation Criteria. Candidates that do not demonstrate these criteria will not be assessed. Candidates should be aware that rates may be negotiated further as part of the selection process. Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Lead and contribute to UX/UI design activities across discovery, design, validation and implementation. Apply human-centred design approaches to understand user needs and create accessible, effective and evidence-based solutions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve user, business and technical challenges. Develop conceptual through to implementation-ready designs, interaction specifications and supporting artefacts. Facilitate workshops, design activities and stakeholder engagement sessions. Provide specialist advice within your area of expertise. Contribute to design system evolution and adoption. Support and mentor less experienced practitioners where appropriate. Contribute to knowledge sharing, standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Use contemporary design methods, tools and technologies to improve delivery quality and effectiveness. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Demonstrated experience applying human-centred design methodologies to deliver user-centred digital products and services, including user research, interaction design, interface design, prototyping, testing and validation. 2. Demonstrated ability to translate user needs, research insights and business requirements into practical, accessible and evidence-based design solutions in complex environments. 3. Experience collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams, working with product managers, business analysts, developers, researchers and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. 4. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills, with demonstrated ability to influence decisions and communicate design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences. Desirable criteria 1. Experience working within government, public sector or highly regulated environments. 2. Experience contributing to or working with design systems, component libraries and design governance frameworks. 3. Experience using contemporary UX/UI design and prototyping tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro or similar. 4. Experience supporting digital transformation, service reform or large-scale organisational change initiatives.
