The CIO Division provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and are seeking an Integration Developer to support a business application transformation program of work. The program is establishing DISR's first enterprise Microservices and Event-driven Architecture foundations and is embedding AI enabled engineering practices across the software delivery lifecycle.  The Integration Developer will design, build, test and support secure, scalable and reusable integration solutions that connect departmental applications, platforms and external services. Key duties and responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to:  Design, develop, test, deploy and support API-led and event-driven integration solutions that enable secure and scalable communication between departmental applications, platforms and external services.  Implement integration solutions using cloud-native services, messaging technologies and event-driven patterns to support business transformation initiatives, platform modernisation and service delivery outcomes.  Collaborate with architects, technical leads, developers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into high quality integration and digital solutions.  Apply modern engineering and AI delivery practices, including AI enabled software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, automated testing and platform engineering standards that support secure, scalable and reliable service delivery.  Support the adoption of modern engineering practices, including microservices and event-driven architecture, API first design, platform engineering and reusable integration patterns.  Contribute to knowledge transfer and capability uplift by mentoring team members, sharing reusable approaches and supporting continuous improvement.  Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 2. Minimum 5 years’ experience designing, developing and supporting API led and event-driven integration solutions using microservices architecture. REST APIs, JSON/XML data interchange, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, API gateways and service integration patterns. 3. Demonstrated experience delivering cloud-native integration solutions using API management platforms, messaging and event-driven technologies, containerisation and orchestration platforms, and modern programming languages. Experience with technologies such as REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Service Bus, Event Grid, Docker, Kubernetes, .NET, Java, Node.js or Python is highly regarded. 4. Demonstrated experience implementing secure integration and identity solutions using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT based authentication, enterprise or government identity providers, managed identities and secure service to service communication. Experience applying CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, observability, platform automation and AI-enabled software delivery practices. 5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience working effectively with architects, developers, business stakeholders and delivery partners to deliver successful business outcomes. Desirable criteria 1. Experience working within government or regulated enterprise environments, including compliance with security, privacy, operational governance and assurance requirements.
