One (SFIA2) Junior Test Analyst

A SFIA 2 IT Test Analyst tests the function and interfaces of the systems which make up the Department’s core business processing systems, sourcing and analysing design documents, and assists in the preparation, peer-review and execution of test scripts.  A SFIA 2 IT Test Analyst works in an agile/iterative environment and utilises test management tools to prepare and execute test scripts, document results, analyse data, prepare test artefacts and escalate issues, defects and incidents in line with assigned work scope from the Scrum Master or Team Lead. They may be expected to leadsections of work within a release and be required to undertake specialist or technical research and analysis activities. They communicate across a range of media types, using various styles to suit different audiences and understand and embrace the agency’s various ways of working and are agile in their approach to collaboration and delivery of services. Key duties and responsibilities 1.Prepare, create, maintain, execute and review test requirements and scripts, derived from design analysis and liaise with design, build and business teams 2. Document test plans in line with the department Test Strategy 3. Adhere to Defect Management strategy to raise defects and perform troubleshooting, gathering information for defect entries and identifying points of failure 4. Identify data requirements to satisfy test cases and create, and maintain test data 5. Provide guidance on testing documentation and manage escalated issues arising from testing, including those related to quality 6. Adhere to best practice testing methods and agency quality standards in the maintenance of documentation to support and validate test activities and contribute to the development of new work practices 7. Liaise with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Architects and Business Subject Matter Experts to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes 8. Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts including the co-ordination of UAT with multiple business teams 9. Assist the Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance section and other teams with testing activities as required 10. Provide feedback/reports on estimates of testing effort and progress for project management and planning activities 11. Contribute to quality assurance reviews and make recommendations for improvements 12. Liaise with stakeholders to test outcomes to support achievement of business requirements and work collaboratively to support implementation of business improvement strategies and change initiatives 13. Work with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile 14. Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices ICT Labour Hire workerl will be required to produce the following documentation within project timeframes: • Test scripts and defect register • Test progress reports • Test summary plans • Detailed test plans • Other documentation as requested Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion.
