SFIA 4 Senior IT Test Analyst A SFIA 4 IT Test Analyst leads a team to test the function and interfaces of the systems which make up the Department’s core business processing systems. They prepare, estimate, manage and review testing documentation, ensuring relevant strategies and plans follow best practice and management of risks are considered. They provide training on technical testing processes and work closely with other test analysts to achieve testing outcomes. A SFIA 4 IT Test Analyst works in an agile/iterative environment and undertakes specialist or technical research and analysis activities. They identify opportunities for automation within software processes, using scripts that test functionality through analysis, test preparation, test execution, defect management, and technical troubleshooting activities. They communicate across a range of media types, using various styles to suit different audiences and understand and embrace the agency’s various ways of working and are agile in their approach to collaboration and delivery of services. Key duties and responsibilities  SFIA 4 Senior IT Test Analyst Implement the test strategy and test plan across all projects/change Implement and adhere to testing methods and standards in line with department standards Prepare, create, maintain, execute and review test requirements and scripts, derived from design analysis and liaise with design, build and business teams Provide estimates of testing effort and progress for project management and planning activities Assign tasks to the test team and ensure timely delivery of test outcomes with quality results Assist in the production release and review of all test deliverables Ensure test environment requirements are clearly documented and agreed Execute test scripts (when required) Produce metrics to measure testing quality and progress Apply project management principles in the development and delivery of testing objectives and outcomes Escalate risks, issues and assumptions identified during test planning, design or execution and communicate them to the Test Manager Work closely with business to clarify test requirements during test planning, design and execution Liaise with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Architects and Business Subject Matter Experts to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts including the co-ordination of UAT with multiple business teams Support Test Manager in leading, developing Test Estimates, Test Schedule(s), Impact Analysis and resource co-ordination Prepare test signoff artefacts of test activity prior to production implementation Work with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile Adhere to the Defect Management strategy to manage defects, gathering information for defect entries and identifying points of failure and organising resources in the investigation of issues Contribute to and review testing artefacts, including strategies, plans, risk assessments, test specifications and/or status reports Develop, document, monitor and improve testing processes and procedures and promote testing best practices Work collaboratively to identify, validate and implement business improvement strategies and change initiatives to contribute to the delivery of agency outcomes Assist the Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance section and other teams with testing activities Provide leadership and direction to others and plan, coordinate and prepare individual performance, development and succession plans that contribute to the overall strategic direction of the agency Training and mentoring of staff involved in test design and execution Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practice The seller must ensure that the Labour Hire worker performing the services during the term of this contract, facilitate an effective transfer of skills and knowledge to the buyer to enable full use of services and deliverables and associated documents Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Demonstrated experience analysing business requirements, user stories, specifications and design documentation to develop and maintain effective test cases, test scripts and test data. 2. Demonstrated experience executing manual tests, identifying and documenting defects, supporting defect investigation and retesting activities, and ensuring testing outcomes meet quality standards 3. Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, analyse test results, identify root causes and provide practical recommendations to support quality delivery outcomes. 4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, developers and project teams to achieve testing outcomes. 5. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work under limited direction, adapt to changing requirements and deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes. Desirable criteria 1. Degree in Information Technology and ISTQB Foundation Test Analyst 2. Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and quality assurance practices including awareness of software development lifecycles (SDLC), defect management processes, and agile ways of working 3. Knowledge of test design techniques, test execution processes, and the use of testing tools to support project delivery. 4.
