Senior Software Developer

The Digital Business Division (DBD) provides retail digital services for export and biosecurity regulation, operations, and compliance at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. This generates a range of efficiencies and delivers best-in-class digital and data products. The division is responsible for a suite of mission-critical systems and services through enterprise data governance and data analysis services. Key duties and responsibilities To support this effort, we are seeking multiple Software Developers across a range of technology stacks and disciplines. These roles are vital in continuing to build, maintain, and enhancing mission-critical export & import systems used by millions of Australians. Skills & Experience We are looking for developers with experience in one or more of the following areas: Languages/Frameworks: •          C++, C#, .NET Core / .NET Framework •          Java / Spring Boot •          JavaScript / TypeScript •          React, Angular, or similar modern front-end frameworks Preferred Skills: •          RESTful API development and integration •          Microservices and containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) •          Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GovCloud environments) •          Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices •          Version control using Git/GitHub/GitLab •          Automated testing and CI/CD pipelines Key Attributes •    Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline •    Previous experience working on large-scale or government digital transformation initiatives •    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills •    Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and security-conscious environment •    Familiarity with government digital service standards and accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG) Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion.
