Senior Data Engineer

Role: APS6 Data Engineer The APS6 Data Engineer (Labour Hire) will be an integral part of both projects and BAU operational support for a number of NDIA data warehouse platforms. This includes implementing data ingestion solutions, updating data development documentation, providing technical guidance to developers and reviewing data designs and data models. The role will focus on collaborating with key business areas in the build, development and implementation of various data management projects and BAU operations and creation of consumable reports and analytics to address key risks and emerging trends within these areas. Rate: The proposed rate should reflect candidate's skills and experience against the Evaluation Criteria. Candidates that do not demonstrate these criteria will not be assessed. Candidates should be aware that rates may be negotiated further as part of the selection process. Citizenship: As part of the eligibility and suitability requirement, NDIA seeks Labour Hire Workers who are Australian citizens only. Successful candidates will be required to furnish valid evidence of citizenship during the Pre-engagement Check. Labour Hire Licence: Applicable for ACT, VIC and QLD: Labour hire licences are required in the state that specified personnel are being contracted. Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Contribute to the technical implementation of new data solutions from analysis to delivery (designing and delivering data dictionary, defining the release steps, defining best practices of data modelling and review steps).Facilitate continuous improvement measures in delivery principles, coding standards, documentation and provide training sessions to team.Work with the technical teams on Amazon S3, OLTP (Online Transaction Processing), OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) and iPaaS platforms to deliver project and BAU goalsPrioritise work items and add them to a work queue such as a JIRA board.Understand, analyse and size user requirements.Development and maintenance of Data Lake Transformation Metadata.Optimisation and tuning of SQL code to ensure optimal performance.Development and maintenance of system documentation.Work within a state of the art, greenfield dev ops environment.Collaboration with data consumers, database development, testers and IT support teams.
