Principal Software Engineer

Role/s: 1 x EL2 Prinicpal Engineer The Principal Engineer (EL2) operates under broad direction to lead highly complex initiatives that drive quality outcomes across the NDIA. This position requires a high level of autonomy and expertise, engaging in advanced problem-solving and issue management within the organisation’s core functions. The role will involve making strategic decisions and providing high-level advice and support to senior leadership. The Principal Engineer will collaborate closely with key business stakeholders and our local full-stack team to support and enhance project development within the NDIA. The role is also responsible for managing critical internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing, and negotiating on behalf of the NDIA to promote the agency’s objectives across various forums. Rate: The proposed rate should reflect candidate's skills and experience against the Evaluation Criteria. Candidates that do not demonstrate these criteria will not be assessed. Candidates should be aware that rates may be negotiated further as part of the selection process. Citizenship: As part of the eligibility and suitability requirement, NDIA seeks Labour Hire Workers who are Australian citizens only. Successful candidates will be required to furnish valid evidence of citizenship during the Pre-engagement Check. Labour Hire Licence: Applicable for ACT, VIC and QLD: Labour hire licences are required in the state that specified personnel are being contracted. Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Leading the design, development, deployment, and support of the Agency’s Cloud & Data Infrastructure.Prioritising and managing the work queue to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.Ensuring that all solutions adhere to integration best practices.Collaborating with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.Playing a key leadership role in project teams, utilising an agile development framework.Engaging with stakeholders to define project requirements, set priorities, and deliver results.
