Senior Mobile Application Software Engineer (Developer)

Role: 4 x EL1 Mobile Developer The EL1 Mobile App Developer (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the NDIA. The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce senior level advice and support. The EL1 Mobile App Developer (Labour Hire) is required to collaborate with key business stakeholders and our local technical team to enhance and support the development of projects within the NDIA project teams. The position is responsible for actively managing key internal stakeholder relationships. Supplier Briefing: A supplier briefing will be held for this role on Monday 31 August 2026 at 3:30pm AEST – meeting details will be posted in the “Q&A” section of the RFQ for invited Sellers only. Rate: The proposed rate should reflect candidate's skills and experience against the Evaluation Criteria. Candidates that do not demonstrate these criteria will not be assessed. Candidates should be aware that rates may be negotiated further as part of the selection process. Citizenship: As part of the eligibility and suitability requirement, NDIA seeks Labour Hire Workers who are Australian citizens only. Successful candidates will be required to furnish valid evidence of citizenship during the Pre-engagement Check. Labour Hire Licence: Applicable for ACT, VIC and QLD: Labour hire licences are required in the state that specified personnel are being contracted. Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Designing, building, deploying, and supporting the Agency’s mobile applications, systems, and integrations.Ensuring that all solutions adhere to integration best practices and NDIA architectural principles and are well documented.Collaborating with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.Play a key role in our project team, using an agile development framework.Actively participate in code reviews – both as the reviewer and the reviewee to ensure coding quality and standards are maintained.Ensuring that any software produced meets the agency's security requirements and standards.Ensuring that any software produced meets accessibility expectations.Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads, and other IT teams to resolve issues to ensure solutions are viable and fit for purpose.Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure effective test coverage early in the development cycle utilising a shift-left approachEnsuring that solutions are pragmatic, value for money, and deliver on their intended purpose.                (NOTE: the key responsibilities of the role are based on current priorities and may change over time)
