DevOps Engineers

The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced DevOps Engineer to: Assist the Infrastructure team of the NCIS Program. Design, implement and maintain the security of Azure cloud platform and services.Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external parties, including senior stakeholders.Share technical knowledge across the team, and provide support to other parts of the NCIS Program. The ACIC requires specified personnel to: Obtain the ACIC’s Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.Have an Australian Government security clearance (AGSVA) to the minimum of Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) or be willing to undergo and obtain and AGSVA NV1 clearance.As directed by the ACIC, complete a Deed of Confidentiality or Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to commencement or comply with processes required to engage the Specified Personnel under section 48 of the Australian Crime Commission Act (2002). Note: Seller may be required to meet the cost of any security clearances Key duties and responsibilities Implementing technical solutions in cloud to facilitate migration of applications.Designing infrastructure solutions to host applications currently on premise.Developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure and applications to cloud.Working within DevOps practices of the wider program team.Inputting features and design of cloud foundations.Developing new standard features and automation for standard customer cloud environments.Contributing to Product Management practices to develop new features.Contributing to agile/scrum ceremonies to develop, plan, and prioritise new feature delivery.Supporting Java applications running in a Linux environment.Undertaking performance tuning.Working in a diverse team across a wide range of different technologies and systems.Automating processes and building self-service capabilities.Delivering and building services and technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Azure.Leading and coordinating cloud development activities between relevant stakeholders and technical resources - both internal and external.Periodically collaborating to develop and implement operational improvements.Leveraging experience with cloud native tools to review metrics and monitor the health/utilisation of agency’s cloud services.Designing, implementing and maintaining the security of Azure cloud platform and services.Implementing new security measures on the Azure cloud.Collaborating with developers and the NCIS Sustainment team to create strategies for improving security.Scripting and automating security processes using Microsoft Azure DevOps.Setting direction for use of Azure role-based access control (Azure RBAC), Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Administrator protection strategy and Azure policy to govern Azure resources.Managing vulnerability scanning tools to identify security risk in software code or platform.Responding to security incidents if required.Working with architects, administrators, and developers to plan and implement solutions that meet security and compliance requirements.Ensuring that Azure deployments are secure and compliant with industry and regulatory standard, the primary work focus will be infrastructure work that improves NCIS security posture.Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.All services and deliverables performed by specified personnel must: be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; andmeet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time.
