Senior System Analyst

Systems Analysts translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.  The Senior Systems Analyst (Project and Delivery Lead) provides delivery leadership across complex gateway and network security infrastructure projects. The role combines senior systems analysis with project management, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, secure and scalable services in a highly governed Australian Government environment. The position is accountable for translating business and operational needs into workable delivery plans; coordinating people, dependencies and suppliers; managing risks, issues and change; and ensuring solutions transition safely into production and ongoing support. Key duties and responsibilities Lead complex gateway and network security infrastructure projects from initiation and planning through implementation, transition and closure. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, setting priorities, clarifying responsibilities and maintaining delivery momentum Develop and maintain delivery plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource forecasts and status reporting Manage project scope, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions and change controls, escalating matters early with practical recommendations Engage business, technical and executive stakeholders to build shared understanding and support timely decisions Analyse current-state systems, interfaces, operational processes and service impacts to define fit-for-purpose implementation and transition approaches Lead production transition and operational readiness activities, including support models, handover, documentation, knowledge transfer and acceptance criteria Support major problem and incident management by coordinating technical investigation, stakeholder communication, recovery actions and post-incident improvements Maintain governance artefacts and provide clear, accurate reporting on delivery health, achievements, risks, financial/resource impacts and decisions required Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. Essential criteria 1. 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading complex gateway and network security infrastructure projects in a large organisation (preferably in a government department) 2. Strong systems analysis capability, including analysis of technology services, dependencies, interfaces, operational impacts and implementation options 3. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate delivery across business, technical and operational stakeholders 4. Experience managing schedules, scope, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, change and governance reporting 5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce talking points, project documentation and explain complex matters clearly to technical and non-technical audiences 6.
