The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, governance, delivery and implementation of complex, high risk strategic projects and initiatives across APRA. The role manages projects through the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring agreed outcomes are delivered and benefits realised within approved scope, schedule, budget and quality parameters. Project assignments may span both business and technology domains, including regulatory initiatives, business transformation, process improvement, cyber security, data, digital, infrastructure and enterprise application projects. The Senior Project Manager works collaboratively with business stakeholders, data, security and technical teams, delivery partners and vendors to deliver sustainable outcomes that support APRA's strategic objectives. The role operates within the APRA Project Delivery Framework while applying appropriate delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches. Key duties and responsibilities Lead end-to-end project delivery from initiation through to closure. Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, budgets and delivery roadmaps. Establish clear project scope, objectives, deliverables and success measures. Develop business cases and manage governance approvals Coordinate and manage activities across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups. Deliver outcomes within approved scope, schedule, budget and quality parameters. Ensure project governance obligations are consistently met. Establish fit-for-purpose governance arrangements. Proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies. Ensure project decisions are documented and appropriately escalated. Support internal assurance reviews, audits and project health checks. Maintain compliance with APRA policies, frameworks and project delivery standards. Translate strategic business objectives into executable delivery plans. Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements and outcomes. Work closely with architects, engineers, analysts and vendors to deliver technology-enabled business outcomes. Facilitate informed decision-making by assessing business and technical options. Ensure solutions align with APRA’s enterprise architecture, security and operational requirements.
