Lead ERP Data Readiness Data Analyst

The ERP Uplift Program was recently initiated and seeks to modernise and unify Austrade’s ERP capability by replacing the current toolset with a secure, cloud-based platform supported by a clear long-term ERP strategy and integrated roadmap. The new ERP platform will address key technical risks, strengthen operational agility and resilience, improve user experience, and enable data-driven decision-making to support Austrade’s broader business objectives. Austrade is seeking a talented, dynamic ERP Data Analyst to join the program. The ERP Data Analyst – ERP Readiness is an experienced, hands-on practitioner who will work independently to undertake data readiness and cleansing activities across legacy systems supporting HR, finance, procurement, and travel and expense data, while coordinating with system administrators, business representatives and subject matter experts to deliver agreed outcomes. The role will improve the accuracy, completeness, consistency, validity and integrity of source data before the introduction of the new ERP solution. Working closely with system administrators, business representatives, data owners and subject matter experts, the role will profile and analyse data, identify and investigate quality issues, agree practical remediation actions, undertake or support data corrections, validate outcomes, and identify records that may be suitable for archiving in accordance with organisational and records management requirements. We are looking for someone who has the following skills: Strong hands-on experience extracting, profiling, analysing, cleansing and validating complex enterprise data using SQL, Excel, Power Query, reporting tools or comparable technologies Proven ability to identify and quantify data quality issues and personally undertake, automate or coordinate practical remediation across multiple systems and business domains Practical experience delivering data readiness and legacy data cleansing activities for ERP, HRIS, finance, procurement, travel and expense management, or other corporate systems transformations Ability to work closely with system administrators, business representatives, data owners and subject matter experts to confirm business rules, investigate issues, agree remediation actions and validate results Ability to organise and deliver a multi-domain data readiness workload, manage issues and dependencies, explain technical findings in plain English, and provide clear, evidence-based reporting to stakeholders. Key duties and responsibilities DUTIES INCLUDE: The responsibilities and duties of the role include, but are not limited to:  Current-state data inventory and readiness baseline covering in-scope legacy systems and data domains Data profiling and quality assessment outputs, including quantified findings and risk-based priorities Data issue and remediation register with owners, actions, due dates, evidence and status Data cleansing and remediation plan aligned to business capacity and program milestones Hands-on cleansing outputs, repeatable checks, scripts or controlled procedures, with appropriate documentation and validation evidence Proposed archiving candidate lists and supporting selection criteria for review and decision by authorised business and records management stakeholders Data quality rules, measures, dashboards or status reporting that demonstrate progress and residual risk Root-cause findings and practical recommendations to reduce recurrence of priority data quality issues Regular executive and working-level data readiness status reports. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Capability and Capacity 1. Enterprise Data Analysis: Demonstrated experience extracting, profiling, interrogating, cleansing and validating complex data from enterprise or corporate systems. 2. Data Quality Remediation: Demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying data quality issues. 3. ERP or corporate systems: Experience supporting data readiness, legacy data clean-up or comparable preparatory activity for an ERP, HRIS, finance, procurement, travel and expense management. 4. Business & Technical collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with system administrators, business representatives, data owners and subject matter experts. 5. Archiving analysis: Experience identifying inactive, obsolete, redundant or superseded records as potential candidates for archiving, supported by documented criteria and engagement 6. Planning and Communication: Ability to plan and control a multi-domain readiness workload, manage issues and dependencies. Price Whole of life costs including the quoted price and any additional costs incurred throughout the term of the proposed contract. Note: The above 2 criteria for evaluation will be of equal importance. Desirable criteria 1. • Experience in Australian Government or another regulated environment, including an understanding of records management, privacy, security and auditability obligations. • Experience working across Finance, Procurement, Travel and Expense Management, and Human Resources data domains. • Experience producing data quality dashboards and actionable reporting for program governance forums.
