Job description

The Solution Architect will work directly with the Program, AEC IT and business areas to provide strategic and technical guidance and lead/assist with the development of solution architectures, specifically solutions relating to the delivery of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Key duties and responsibilities Solution Architects will be responsible for, but not limited to: actively contribute to the review, development and/or sustainment of the agency’s application governance artefacts, including application strategies, architectures, technology roadmaps, policies, and practices. undertake targeted review of existing application deployments both on premise and in-cloud, including assessment of documentation, sustainability, and alignment with agency application governance. based on review findings, document identified issues, risks, and opportunities, together with associated actionable recommendations. working directly with IT, business areas, application development teams, provide insight and assistance with the scoping, costing, planning and delivery of new application services. Ensuring relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices (including security) are applied correctly and consistently. Evaluating requests for changes and deviations from specifications and recommending actions to delegates and governance bodies for endorsement/decision or other appropriate action. Working as part of an Agile project/program team or business as usual area as directed. Performing other duties as directed from time-to-time by Directors/Team Leaders or a delegate. It is desirable Solution Architects have experience in: Enterprise Resource Planning ServiceNow Government ICT Transformations   Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. • Demonstrated experience (5+ years) working as a Solution (Application) Architect • Proven experience designing applications and solutions for cloud environments. • Proven experience designing and documenting applications that meet business requirements and align with the AEC’s strategic vision and operational constraints. • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to distil technical information in Plain English to communicate with influence. • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, including the ability to translate clearly between technical teams and business areas. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively manage risk and deliver fit-for-purpose applications and solutions. • Must have an active AGSVA Baseline Security clearance and the ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance. 2. • Your submission must include 1 PDF attachment with no more than 5 pages, containing all requested information below. (Only 1 PDF should be uploaded per submission.) • Candidate availability to commence (e.g. 2 weeks' notice) • Confirmation that Australian Citizenship is held - proof may be requested • Current Security Clearance held • Candidate location • Notice of planned leave exceeding one week • Notice of whether the submitted candidate will also be engaged in secondary employment elsewhere (if so, please confirm in what capacity) • Consultant comments - no more than 500 words, speaking to the suitability of the submitted candidate for the position • Cover page responding to the mandatory criteria - please ensure this response does not exceed 1 page in length • Candidate resume - please ensure the candidate's resume is no more than 3 pages, and that you do not include any rate information within this document Desirable criteria 1. • Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Information Management, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline. • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale ICT transformation projects/programs, preferably in a Commonwealth Government setting. • Demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth Government frameworks, including the ICT frameworks. • Demonstrated understanding of Agile ways of work (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework [SAFe] or similar). • Demonstrated experience in delivering solution architecture outcomes across Enterprise Resource Planning solutions. • Demonstrated experience in delivering solution architecture outcomes across ServiceNow.
