Job description

The Functional Analyst role will work within a multidisciplinary technology team, acting as a key link between business requirements and practical technology solutions. The role will analyse and clarify functional requirements, translate approved specifications into effective system configurations, and support solutions through testing, implementation and ongoing operation. Working collaboratively with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, developers, testers and delivery teams, the role will help ensure business applications and digital platforms are fit for purpose, well documented, supportable and delivered within agreed timeframes. The role will also identify opportunities to improve processes, reusable solution patterns, system functionality and the overall user experience. Key duties and responsibilities The successful contractor will take a hands-on role across the delivery lifecycle, with a primary focus on functional analysis, solution configuration, validation and system support. The Functional Analyst will work from agreed business requirements and specifications, collaborating with Business Analysts on requirement clarification, specialist testers on quality assurance, and technical teams on implementation and deployment activities. Review business and functional requirements to confirm that business rules, workflows, data requirements, exceptions and dependencies are clearly understood. Analyse system capabilities and constraints and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions that align with business objectives and established standards. Configure and maintain enterprise business applications and digital platforms in accordance with approved specifications, reusable patterns and configuration best practices. Produce and maintain clear functional documentation, including configuration records, solution notes, process information, decisions and support materials. Support implementation and release-readiness activities, including deployment coordination, production verification and post-implementation support, while working within established change and release processes. Investigate and troubleshoot system issues, analyse likely causes and work with technical and business teams to coordinate practical resolutions. Build productive relationships with business stakeholders, delivery teams and technical specialists, communicating complex functional matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain assigned work items, risks, issues, dependencies and delivery status using agreed work-management tools and processes. Identify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities, including process simplification, automation, reusable system patterns, improved reporting and more efficient ways of working. Contribute to knowledge transfer and maintain sufficient documentation to support ongoing system operation and future team capability. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Each response is limited to 3000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM (minimum three years), Azure DevOps, and a strong understanding of grants administration and the end-to-end grants lifecycle. 2.
