Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Innovation Technology Group is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer who will work in our cloud platforms team deploying, maintaining and securing clouds and the associated networking in AWS and Azure. As part of the cloud platforms team, you will continue to deliver a host of modern, government-leading cloud systems and services.  During the evaluation stage, shortlisted suppliers may be invited to participate in interviews. Additionally, IP Australia retains the right to seek verbal or written feedback from referees and may enter into negotiations to obtain the Best and Final Offer from selected suppliers. Should a provider modify any specified resources or business operations, the Commonwealth also reserves the authority to conduct a comprehensive review of personnel prior to finalising the contract.  **Please note that IP Australia will not be extending this opportunity to any additional Sellers**  Key duties and responsibilities The Cloud Security Engineer will improve the security, reliability and operational maturity of IP Australia's AWS and Azure platforms by strengthening identity controls, cloud-native security monitoring, infrastructure automation and staff capability  The successful Cloud Security Engineer will be required to -  Working with stakeholders to deliver stable and secure software and environments, that align to IP Australia’s reference architecture.  Designing, developing and maintaining Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Development (CD) pipelines.  Deploying and servicing cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.  Administering and optimising cloud environments in accordance with IP Australia’s architectural, technical and security guidelines.  Collaborating with, and mentoring teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and associated best practice.  Investigate, analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with IP Australia’s cloud environments Undertake continual improvement activities based on opportunities   Maintaining processes, procedures, and documentation necessary for effective maintenance of environments  Maintains an understanding of responsibilities under the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and a commitment to promoting a healthy and safe workplace  Demonstrates attitudes and behavior’s responsive to workplace change and culturally fit with diverse teams (including participates in and encourages others to participate in change and contribute to successful outcomes)  Excellent communication skills  To succeed in this role, you will need to be an experienced IT professional with significant recent experience in implementing AWS cloud-based infrastructure solutions, with Azure experience considered advantageous, ideally in a Commonwealth Government context.  Other skills that would be highly regarded include:   Cloud-based physical and virtual networking   Infrastructure as a Service compute workload   Cloud-native container platforms   Storage services and gateways   Serverless resources   Security Services   Cloud native database management   Provide technical support and consultative advice, to architects, application developers, and project teams on appropriate use of supported cloud technologies, and in the development of appropriate solution designs   Monitoring solutions such as application performance monitoring, security, and system event logging    Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Demonstrable working knowledge of the AWS Cloud Platform and the services and policies required to maintain reliability and security of all accounts. Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Identity and Access Management including EntraID, SCIM and AWS IAM Weighting: 25% 2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in cloud native security tools such as AWS Security Hub, Microsoft Defender and Sentinel Weighting: 25% 3. Demonstrable experience in networking in a modern cloud deployment. Weighting: 15% 4. Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement in new and emerging technologies Weighting: 10% 5. Well-developed communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide people to uplift their cloud skills. Weighting: 15% 6.
