Senior Senior Governance Data Analyst

The maximum daily rate for this position is $1,400 (excl. GST) The Senior Data Governance Implementation Analyst will play a key role in implementing APRA’s Data Governance Framework across the organisation as part of the GUIDE Program. Working across business and technology teams, the role will lead business engagement, facilitate working groups, and drive the implementation of governance roles, processes, and decision-making practices. The role will ensure data governance is embedded into business operations, supporting sustainable adoption and improved management of APRA’s critical data assets.  Key duties and responsibilities Role Summary The Senior Data Governance Implementation Analyst will play a key role in implementing APRA’s Data Governance Framework across the organisation as part of the GUIDE Program. Working across business and technology teams, the role will lead business engagement, facilitate working groups, and drive the implementation of governance roles, processes, and decision-making practices. The role will ensure data governance is embedded into business operations, supporting sustainable adoption and improved management of APRA’s critical data assets.  Organisational Environment The role sits within the GUIDE Program, APRA’s strategic investment to strengthen data management, governance and enterprise data capabilities. Working as part of the Data Governance team, the role partners with business, technology and delivery teams to implement the Data Governance Framework, embed new ways of working, and support the transition of governance into business-as-usual operations.  Key Accountabilities -  Drive implementation of the Data Governance operating model across assigned business domains, ensuring governance roles, processes and decision forums are embedded into business operations.  - Lead business working groups to achieve agreement on data ownership, stewardship, governance processes and implementation actions, resolving issues and maintaining delivery momentum.  - Partner with business, technology and program stakeholders to translate governance requirements into practical business processes, ensuring alignment with the enterprise Data Governance Framework. - Identify implementation risks, dependencies and organisational barriers, providing recommendations and coordinating actions to support successful rollout and sustainable adoption. -  Monitor and report implementation progress, ensuring agreed actions are completed, governance artefacts are fit for purpose, and business areas are ready to transition governance activities into business-as-usual.  Desired Capabilities and Experience - Data and digital transformation program delivery experience in government and/or regulatory environment.(Essential)  - Demonstrated experience implementing data governance operating model initiatives within large and complex organisations. - Strong understanding of data governance practices, including data ownership, stewardship, critical data elements, business glossary, metadata, data quality, and governance processes. - Proven ability to lead workshops and facilitate agreement across diverse business, technology, and executive stakeholders. - Experience designing, improving, and embedding business processes, governance forums and operating models. - Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex governance concepts into practical business outcomes. - Demonstrated experience delivering organisational change and embedding new ways of working within complex or regulated environments. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify implementation risks, dependencies and opportunities and develop practical solutions. - Proven ability to deliver outcomes through influence, collaboration, and effective stakeholder management, without direct authority.
